RUIDOSO DOWNS, NM–SEPTEMBER 24, 2025–The General Manager of Ruidoso Downs Racetrack and Casino announced Wednesday that the long-awaited Debris Removal Document has officially arrived, clearing the way for cleanup efforts on the storm-damaged track.

The document authorizes crews to begin removing trash and mud, marking the first tangible step toward reconstruction. Final engineering drawings from the Army Corps of Engineers and Homeland Security are expected by the end of the week, further advancing the project.

“This is exciting news and the first step toward re-building the track,” Baugh stated. Ruidoso Downs has pledged to keep the community informed with regular updates as progress continues.
