Sam Houston Race Park Schedules Stable Clean Up & Chili Day Ahead of 2026 Meet

SAM HOUSTON–NOVEMBER 10, 2025–Houston Race Park is calling on horsemen, staff, and racing supporters to roll up their sleeves for its annual Stable Clean Up Day, set for Monday, November 17, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The workday is aimed at putting the final polish on the stable area ahead of the 2026 Live Racing Season, focusing on those last details that matter—tidying barns, organizing tack rooms, clearing clutter, and making sure the shedrows are in proper shape before horses begin to arrive in force.

As a thank-you to volunteers, David Turner’s award-winning chili will be served at 12 p.m. in the Sam Houston Chaplaincy, giving everyone a chance to take a break, warm up, and visit with fellow horsemen after the morning’s work.

Participants are asked to wear jeans and bring work gloves, as the emphasis will be on practical, hands-on jobs throughout the barn area.

Anyone needing more information or with questions about the schedule can contact Guy Smith at guy.smith@pennentertainment.com.

It’s a straightforward job: show up, pitch in, clean up the stable area, and help Sam Houston Race Park step into the 2026 meet ready to go on Day One.
