OKLAHOMA CITY, OK–JANUARY 15, 2026–An original live-painted artwork by western artist Josey Butler of Streakin B Art brought $32,500 at auction Wednesday evening at Heritage Place, with proceeds benefiting three organizations that support the racing industry.

The painting was created live during the Winter Mixed Sale pre-sale party and auctioned following the AQHA Racing Champions Ceremony. Funds raised from the winning bid will directly support the Sam Thompson Memorial Foundation, the American Quarter Horse Youth Racing Experience, and the Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund.

The Sam Thompson Memorial Foundation provides scholarships, educational support, and assistance to individuals within the racing community, while also helping fund services for disabled jockeys and others in need. The American Quarter Horse Youth Racing Experience introduces select youth to the inner workings of the racing industry through immersive, hands-on opportunities that often serve as a pathway to lifelong involvement in the sport. The Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund offers financial assistance to approximately 60 jockeys who have suffered catastrophic, career-ending injuries.

The $32,500 result marked a significant contribution to organizations that continue to play a vital role in supporting the people and future of Quarter Horse racing.
