The Texas Quarter Horse Association has released the Early Bird Nominations list for the 2027 Texas Breeders Futurity, featuring 369 nominated horses as of May 15, 2026.

ELGIN, TX–MAY 22, 2026– The Texas Quarter Horse Association has released the Early Bird Nominations list for the 2027 Texas Breeders Futurity, featuring 369 nominated horses as of May 15, 2026.

The early nomination roster includes many of Texas racing’s leading breeders, owners, and racing partnerships, with numerous yearlings expected to pass through the upcoming TQHA Yearling Sale. According to TQHA, additional effort was made to identify as many registered foal names as possible prior to publication in order to reduce the number of unnamed entries listed in the release.

TQHA also reminded nominators that horses paid into the Early Bird program do not require another payment until November 15, 2026. The association noted that payment reminders will be distributed following the close of regular nominations on October 15, 2026.

In addition to securing eligibility for the futurity, all owners who submitted Early Bird nominations remain eligible for the program’s $20,000 in Nominator Awards.

TQHA asked owners to review the published list carefully for any spelling corrections or missing entries. Questions or corrections should be directed to Scott Sherwood at the TQHA office.
