FLORESVILLE, TX–MAY 26, 2026– The Texas horse racing community is rallying around the Bustamante family following a devastating barn fire that destroyed their horse training facility, claiming horses, equipment, and the family’s livelihood.

According to a fundraising announcement released this week, the Floresville-based family has spent more than two decades dedicated to the Texas horse racing and training industry. The fire resulted in catastrophic losses, leaving the family facing the difficult task of rebuilding both their operation and their future.

Industry organizations, racetracks, and horsemen across Texas are now encouraging the racing community to come together in support of Elida and Ignacio Bustamante during the recovery effort.

Donations on behalf of the Bustamante family can be mailed to:

Falls City Milling Company
P.O. Box 128
Falls City, Texas 78113

Monetary donations are also being accepted during the “Ring The Bell” campaign at both Sam Houston Race Park and Retama Park throughout the summer.

The fundraising effort is supported by several Texas racing organizations, including the Texas Quarter Horse Association and the Texas Horsemen’s Partnership.
