ELGIN, TX—JUNE 17, 2026—Texas horse breeders have until June 30, 2026, to accredit broodmares expected to foal in Texas during 2027 at the current $50 accreditation fee.
After the June 30 deadline, the accreditation fee will increase to $100 per mare.
The Texas Quarter Horse Association (TQHA) reminds breeders that broodmare accreditation is a one-time process. Once a broodmare is accredited through the Texas Breeding Program, she remains accredited for life and does not require renewal in future years.
Owners with broodmares already accredited do not need to take any additional action until it is time to accredit the resulting foal.
Breeders seeking to accredit mares can CLICK HERE complete a breeding stock application and submit it to TQHA before the June 30 deadline to take advantage of the reduced fee.
For additional information regarding broodmare accreditation or the Texas Breeding Program, contact TQHA at (512) 458-5202 or email the association directly.
