Lance Robinson to Be Inducted in Utah Sports Hall of Fame

SALT LAKE CITY, UT—NOVEMBER 5, 2010—Lance K. Robinson, who this year was represented as the breeder or co-breeder of the winner of Grade 1 events in both American Quarter Horse and Thoroughbred racing, is to be inducted this month into the Utah Sports Hall of Fame.

A resident of Spanish Fork, Utah, Robinson bred Ruidoso Futurity winner American Runaway and Preakness Stakes winner Lookin At Lucky (TB). An earner of $460,473, American Runaway also finished second in the Grade 1 Remington Park and Rainbow futurities at Ruidoso Downs in New Mexico and is a qualifier to the $1 million-est. Texas Classic Futurity (G1). The colt by Ocean Runaway is trained by Paul Jones and owned by the partnership of Sammy C. and Johnny C. Martinez of Chimayo, New Mexico, and Bobby D. Cox of Fort Worth, Texas.

Robinson bred Lookin At Lucky in partnership under the name Gulf Coast Farms LLC. Trained by former Quarter Horse trainer Bob Baffert, Lookin At Lucky is a Smart Strike colt owned by Mike Pegram, Karl Watson and Paul Weitman and is expected to compete in the November 6 Breeders Cup Classic at Churchill Downs.

Robinson and four others will be inducted November 16 into the Hall at the Utah Sports Hall of Fame Foundation banquet at the Energy Solutions Arena in Salt Lake City.
