Contested at 300 yards, the trials produced ten qualifiers for the June 7 final, with Mrs Pyc Painted Nova and Chile Piquin posting the two fastest times of the evening.

VINTON, LA–MAY 17, 2025–Delta Downs hosted the $194,020 Old South Futurity on Saturday night and the race was won by Shot Of Takillya with jockey Raul Hernandez, Jr. in the saddle for trainer Jorge Valenzuela.
Shot of Takillya, who is owned by his breeder Sunset Well Service, Inc., was making the fourth start of his career in the Old South and he came into the event off a maiden-breaking performance in the trials on April 26.
Earlier in the year he finished fifth in the $347,000 Louisiana Downs Futurity (G2) after qualifying for that event by running second in his debut three weeks earlier.
