Dominyun - Dominyun came off a close second by a neck to Llano Teller in the June 11 Ruidoso Derby (G1) to win the third of seven Rainbow Derby trials by 1 1/4 lengths in the sixth-fastest time. A homebred racing for former champion owner Bobby Cox of Fort Worth, Texas, the colt at 2 was third in both Mr Piloto’s All American Futurity (G1) at Ruidoso Downs and A Snowy Cartel’s Dash For Cash Futurity (G1) at Lone Star Park at Grand Prairie (Texas).

Dominyun is one of nine winners from 11 starters out of the stakes-placed Runaway Winner mare Runaway Dee Dee, a $25,068 earner who was the 1998 high-point sophomore filly in Texas. Runaway Dee Dee is the dam of the graded stakes winner A Down Right Runaway ($108,203, by First Down Dash) and the stakes-winning Invisible Injun gelding Riddick ($67,598).

Dominyun is trained by John Buchanan, who won the 2009 Rainbow Futurity with Zoomin With Ease and was ridden in the trialas by Buchanan’s son-in-law Russel Hadley, who rode Zoomin With Ease in that Rainbow Futurity.
