Paul Jones is the all-time leading trainer in American Quarter Horse racing. He has conditioned the earners of more than $74.4 million and came into the trials having sent out 3,761 winners from 20,174 starts. Jones has won the Blane Schvaneveldt Champion Trainer award 12 consecutive times – every year since 2002 – and now is tied with the award’s namesake who won it consecutively from 1985 through 1996. Jones has won the All American Futurity (G1) three times, with Teller Cartel in 2005, No Secrets Here in 2006 and Runnning Brook Gal in 2009. He won the All American Derby (G1) twice, the Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity (G1) twice, and the Champion Of Champions (G1) six times.

Esgar Ramirez won the 2010 All American Futurity (G1) aboard 22-1 longshot Mr Piloto. One of the top-10 jockeys all-time, Ramirez has ridden 1,242 winners and the earners of more than $27.5 million from 7,931 mounts since 2002, and last year ranked sixth with more than $2.8 million.

Armando Cabrera De La Vega’s Desiree Princess Ranch LLC, based in Laredo, Texas, has sent out six winners from 33 starts this year with earnings of $96,750. Another 2-year-old they own, Jess Sass Dash finished second in the Ruidoso Juvenile, was a finalist to the $700,000 Rainbow Futurity(G1) and $1.1 Golden State Million Futurity(G1). Another two-year-old, Unobetter, tied for the 10th fastest qualifying time to the Golden State Million Futurity(G1) but lost the shake to eventual race winner Igoturtac.

Jess Sass Dash - The son of First Down Dash qualified to the Golden State Million Futurity via a runner-up finish in Terrific Synergy’s trial. Jockey Esgar Ramirez had his hands full as the colt was a half length back after drifting out.

The 2010 Heritage Place Fall Yearling Sale highest seller at $150,000, Jess Sass Dash earlier this year was second in the Ruidoso Juvenile Invitational (R) and sixth in the $700,00 Rainbow Futurity (G1).

First Down Dash is the industry's all-time leading sire with earners of more than $76 million.

His dam is the stakes winner and grade 1 placed Jess Sass Me ($110,503), a daughter of #2 leading sire of money earners Mr Jess Perry. From four foals to race she is also the dam of 2011 stakes winning two-year-old Valiant Jess ($31,499), winner of the Ruidoso Juvenile Challenge.

The second dam is the multiple grade 1 winning Corona Cartel mare Sassy Smith ($412,011). Among her seven wins were the Kingergarten Futurity(G1) and PCQHRA Breeders' Futurity(G1).
