A top-10 all-time leading trainer, Michael W. “Mike” Joiner has conditioned the earners of more than $18.1 million, including Thunderball B’s sire, champion FDD Dynasty, and FDD Dynasty’s champion daughter Kates Dynasty. Joiner went into the trials having sent out the winners of 611 races from 3,640 starters. On the first day of trials, Joiner also sent out G.R. Carter to win the 10th trial aboard qualifier Tempting Destiny. With qualifiers Thunderball B and Tempting Destiny in this year’s All American Futurity, Joiner works hand in hand with his son Cody, who also is one of the sport’s leading trainers and has conditioned the earners of more than $2.17 million.
G R Carter, Jr Jockey
G.R. Carter Jr. is the all-time-everything rider in American Quarter Horse racing. The 10-time AQHA champion jockey is the all-time leader by money, having ridden the earners of more than $65.8 million, and by wins, having gone into the trials with scores aboard 3,663 winners from 23,141 starts. Carter has won the All American Futurity (G1) twice, on Falling In Loveagain in 1998 and on world champion Stolis Winner in 2008. On the first day of trials, Carter won seven of the 14 heats and was aboard four of the five finalists qualified on Thursday afternoon.
Double Eagle Ranch Inc. and Buena Suerte Equine Owner
The partnership of Mark Allen’s Double Eagle Ranch and Dr. Leonard Blach’s Buena Suerte Equine has raced the winners of nine races from 51 starts, with earnings of $333,711. They include champion Time For A Cigar, as well as last year’s All American Derby qualifier Flyin Fish. The Roswell, New Mexico, based partnership also raced the Thoroughbred Mine That Bird to win the 2009 Kentucky Derby.

Linda Tee Fire - Finishing second in the fruitful first trial, Linda Tee Fire was the second-fastest qualifier behind BPs Jumpin Frisco. Linda Tee Fire last year was a finalist in the Texas Classic Futurity (G1).
The partnership of Marcus Smith and Charlie and Dixie Patterson, based in Wimberley, Texas, has bred horses that have won six of 16 starts and earned $333,619, including Grade 2 winner Jess Tee Off.
Sire Walk Thru Fire is a son of First Down Dash and was a Grade 1 competitor during his racing career in which he earned $94,280. As a sire, Walk Thru Fire was hot from the start, as he sired champion Higher Fire in his first crop. From eight crops to race, he has sired the earners of more than $13.3 million, including champions Pink Boots RM and Separate Fire. Walk Thru Fire stands at Burns Ranch in Menifee, California.
The Mr Jess Perry mare Jess Linda Tee is a race winner and half sister to Grade 1 winner Mr Pie Chick (by Pie In The Sky, $149,589). Now in Brazil, the 9-year-old mare’s other race starter is Grade 2 winner Jess Tee Off (by Tres Seis, $281,566).
