J Bar - Qualifying time: :21.309
J Bar won the fourth trial by a half-length with the fourth-fastest time of :21.309. The gelding made his stakes debut in the July 9 Rainbow Derby (G1) but finished fifth after a troubled start.
As a 2-year-old, J Bar qualified to the John Deere Ruidoso Juvenile Challenge (G3) and the Dash For Cash Futurity (G1), and returned this season to qualify for the June 28 Adequan Ruidoso Derby Challenge, but was scratched from all three finals.
J Bar is one of 24 winners and the earners of more than $612,000 from 59 starters in two crops raced by the 8-year-old Shazoom stallion Jess Zoomin, who in Grade 1 races was second in the Heritage Place and Texas Classic futurities and third in the All American Futurity and The Championship At Sunland Park. Bred by Jerry Windham, the earner of $461,126 also set a Remington Park track record at 350 yards when he won his Heritage trial by 3 lengths in :17.32.
Jess Zoomin is one of six winners and the earners of more than $708,000 from eight starters out of Jess An Illusion ($10,041), a winning daughter of champion Mr Jess Perry and Jerry Windham’s champion Beduino (TB) mare Indigo Illusion ($867,417). Jess Zoomin is a full brother to Sam Houston Derby (G3) winner Mister Big ($149,314), who ran in champion Kates Dynasty’s Texas Classic Futurity (G1).
J Bar is one of 11 winners from 14 starters out of the winning Runaway Winner mare The Jubilee Diamond ($12,570), whose dam is the champion Timeto Thinkrich mare Denim N Diamonds ($731,118). The Jubilee Diamond has produced the earners of more than $972,000, including the Holland Ease-sired stakes winners Winners Version ($399,046); Latest Version ($188,381), who qualified for By By JJ’s All American Futurity (G1); and Texas Version ($128,230).
