In addition to training all-time leading money earner Ochoa ($2,781,365, by Stoli), who won the Grade 1 All American Futurity and Derby (G1), he has won the All American Derby with Six Popper ($562,679) and Snow Big Deal ($405,333), and the All American Futurity (G1) with On A High ($1,167,234) and champion Refrigerator ($2,126,309).

Cody Jensen rode Houdini to win this year’s Rainbow Derby, Lovethewayyoulie to win the Heritage Place Futurity (G1) and Kiss My Hocks to win the Ruidoso Futurity (G1). The AQHA Champion Jockey in 2013, when he rode the earners of $3,154,543, Jensen in his career has ridden 1,477 winners and the earners of more than $30.78 million from 8,761 mounts. Jensen won the 2009 All American Derby on champion Inseperable and qualified Houdini and Down Side Magician to this year’s running. Jensen also rode back-to-back winners in the All American Futurity (G1), Teller Cartel and No Secrets Here in 2005-06.

Down Side Magician broke his maiden in his only start as a freshman, in June 2013 at Ruidoso Downs. His second career race was a second-place finish in allowance company in April at Remington Park, and since then he has finished third in the May 24 trials to the Ruidoso Derby (G1) and in the July 4 trials to the Rainbow Derby (G1). He came into the All American Derby trials off a fourth in the July 19 Rainbow Derby Invitational (R).

Down Side Magician is one of 87 winners by The Down Side ($361,792), who won the 2003 Champion Of Champions (G1) and three other stakes, and ran in champion AB What A Runner’s All American Futurity (G1). By all-time leading sire First Down Dash out of the stakes-winning Easy Jet mare RR Le Mistral ($90,233), The Down Side is a full brother to Grade 1 winner Revv It Up ($277,703), the dam of the graded stakes-winning Stel Corona mare Revv Me Up ($183,599). The Down Side died in a barn fire in 2006, the year his first foals were born, but has sired champion and All American Derby (G1) winner Double Down Special ($1,211,934), eight other stakes winners and the earners of more than $4.2 million from 138 starters.

Johnny T.L. Jones Jr. for many years owned the Thoroughbred breeding farm Walmac International at Lexington, Kentucky, and owns the J Bar 7 Ranch at his hometown of Quanah, Texas. Jones bred all-time leading money earner Ochoa ($2,781,365, by Stoli), whom he raced in a partnership to win the Grade 1 All American Futurity and Derby. R.D. Hubbard owns Ruidoso Downs, and in his own name has bred champion Ketel Won ($651,740), eight other stakes winners, 106 other winners and the earners of more than $3.65 million from 174 starters.

Over the past 13 years, Jones and Hubbard together have bred the champion half-siblings Noconi ($1,348,900, by Mr Jess Perry) and Brenda Beautiful ($336,624, by Feature Mr Jess), both out of the Grade 1-winning Dash For Cash mare My Dashing Lady; one other stakes winner, 13 other winners and the earners of more than $2.13 million from 28 starters.
