AMARILLO, TX–MARCH 10, 2026–Two champion producers join the ranks of elite broodmares, as they are recognized as AQHA Dams of Distinction. Eye A Spit Curl Girl and Prissy Sin Tacha both earned their second race champion in 2025, which is an accomplishment that earns them the title.

The award recognizes the accomplishments of racing broodmares. To qualify for the award, a mare must meet one or more of the following criteria:

• Dams that produced two or more individual AQHA racing champions.
• Dams that produced at least three individual Grade 1 stakes winners.
• Dams that produced at least two foals ranked in the top 10 money earners of any particular year, as of December 31 of that year, and two Grade 1 stakes winners.
• Dams that produced at least three foals that were in the top 10 money earners of any particular year, as of December 31 of that year.

When the award was created, a grandfather clause also allowed mares that had produced at least three individual stakes winners prior to 1983, and those wins were the equivalent of a Grade 1-quality race, to be accepted.

Eye A Spit Curl Girl is a 2010 brown mare bred and owned by Martin Stacy. Sired by Spit Curl Jess and out of the Mr Eye Opener mare Thisdimplesaniopener, the graded-stakes winning mare earned $180,754 in her race career. As a dam, she has produced nine starters who have earned more than $1.3 million. Her two champions are the champion aged mares Curls Happy Wagon and Curls Joyful Wagon.

Prissy Sin Tacha is a 2013 sorrel mare by Tempting Dash and out of the Mr Jess Perry mare Miss Sin Tacha. She, too, is an accomplished racehorse as a Grade 1-placed earner of $133,256. Bred and owned by Bob and Jerry Gaston, she has from six starters gotten four winners and the earners of more than $960,000. Her two champions are the full brothers Dulce Sin Tacha and Just Dulce.
