Fastest Qualifier Im Rip Returns To Win Rusty Wilson Memorial QH Futurity

BELCOURT, ND—JUNE 23, 2024—Im Rip got his third win in four starts on Sunday when he returned to score a half-length victory in the $16,200 Rusty Wilson Memorial QH Futurity at Chippewa Downs.

Im Rip got a clean trip from the outside post under jockey Dakota Wood to clock 16.015 seconds over the 300 yards, equaling an 84-speed index into a 7 mph crosswind.

Trainer Francisco Estrada saddled the North Dakota homebred sired by Rip Tide for owner-breeder Tyrell R. Moody. Bred from the Cowboys Cartel mare Cowboywannab, Im Rip earned $8,100 to boost his bankroll to $12,510. His only loss this season was a troubled effort in the $58,000 BHS Futurity at Miles City last month.

Runner-up Must Be Magic came on late under jockey Ryan Morin to take home $3,240 for second. Trainer Jeff Charbonneau conditions the Six Figure Sixes filly for owner Denise Groce. Michael Groce bred the gray filly in North Dakota from the Sixes Liaison mare Volcoms Royal Dash. The stakes-placed filly has earned $10,250 in six starts.

Cash Buys A Corona finished one length back to earn $1,620 for third. Jockey Timothy Tarasenco rode the Corona B Cash gelding for owner Daniel Bishoff and trainer Francisco Estrada.  John Babel bred Cash Buys A Corona from the Such Easy Effort mare Cash Buys Diamonds.

Phil Cash, Valiant La Jolla, Valiant Gabe, Ac Mystery Doll, and. Ac Giddyupgo completed the field.
