Im A Fancy Pyc Sires Top Two In The $200,074 Speedhorse Futurity [G3]

TULSA, OK–JULY 20, 2024–Post-time favorite Ima Fancy Eye Opener keeps the win streak going with his fifth consecutive victory this season in the $200,074 Speedhorse Futurity [G3] at Fair Meadows on Saturday.

After clocking the second fastest time in the trials, Jesus Salazar returns for the mount aboard Ima Fancy Eye Opener in the finals to hold on to the victory by a neck over Respct. The two leaders were both sired by Im A Fancy Pyc, a full brother to Pyc Fun N Fancy, who sired the Speedhorse Derby winner from race 11, Fun N Fire.

Benn Cordarelton, who received leading jockey of the 2024 Fair Meadows meet, was aboard Respct for his second place finish over longshot Miss Patricia and rider Erik Esqueda, who place third.

Ima Fancy Eye Opener clocked a 91 speed index in :17.884 second in the 350-yard stakes. The favorite's victory paid $4.20 to win, while Respct paid $10.40 to place on 17/1 odds.

The Futurity win improved Ima Fancy Eye Openers race record to five wins and one second from six starts. The $76,028 winner's share of the purse boosted his earnings to $152,667 for owners Shania and Terry Dale Cox. Trainer Rhonda Valdivia bred the gray gelding in Oklahoma out of Lil Miss Eye Opener by Mr Eye Opener.

Breeder Richard Joneson owns Respct in partnership with Renee Wilson. Clint Crawford saddled the bay colt out of Kitty D Ville by Takin On The Cash. Respct's bankroll increased to $51,010 after adding the $34,013 earnings for second and his record is now 2-1-0 from three starts.

Major longshot Miss Patricia has one win from seven starts with $36,535 in the bank. The third place finish paid $16.60 to show on 23/1 odds. Trained by Fidencio Jimenz, the daughter of Bp Hes Down To Dash was a finalist in the FL Lady Bug Stakes [G3] at Remington Park. Breeder Ld Muniz Roofing LLC owns the bay filly out of Feature Jessie Cash by Feature Mr Jess in partnership with Jessic Guadalupe.

Red Iron, Okie Power, Candy Flood, Hez My Hero, Settle Down Cindy, Fine Dynasty and Rocker S complete the order of finish.
