Jockey Oscar Andrade, Jr. Gets Third Stakes On Night With Ladys Gotta Jet in TQHA Sale Sophomore
Ladys Gotta Jet, under jockey Oscar Andrade, Jr., won the $58,000 TQHA Sale Sophomore Stakes at Retama Park Friday.

Jockey Oscar Andrade, Jr. Gets Third Stakes On Night With Ladys Gotta Jet in TQHA Sale Sophomore

SELMA, TX–JULY 26, 2024—Jockey Oscar Andrade, Jr. rode Ladys Gotta Jet to victory in the $58,000 TQHA Sale Sophomore Stakes to get his third stakes victory of the night at Retama Park.

He piloted Jess Rite to victory in the Benny Pennington Memorial Stakes(RG2) and Hes A Jet One in the TQHA Classic Stakes(RG2) earlier on the card.

It was also the second stakes victory of the night for owner-breeder Pete Scarmardo and trainer John Stinebaugh. The daughter of champion Ec Jet One defeated the field by 1-1/4 lengths while clocking 20.254 seconds, an 87-speed index into an 8 mph headwind for the 400 yards.

Out of the blue-hen First Down Dash mare Lady Lilia, Ladys Gotta Jet has won four of 11 career starts and used the $34,800 winner's purse to boost her earnings to $88,292. She won the John Buchanan Memorial Stakes at Sam Houston Race Park on May 10.

Runner-up Trixiee earned $11,600 for second. Janessa Muniz trains the daughter of multiple stakes sire This Is An Eagle for owner Leticia Molina. Jose Herbert had the riding call on the Texas-bred from the Tres Seis mare Runaway Trs Seis. Bred by P & J Racing Ltd., Trixiee has earned over $46,000.

Vodka From Texas was a head back to earn $6,380 for third, bossting her earnings to $43,662. Arturo Terrazas III trains the Texas homebred daughter of Triple Vodka for Terrazas Family.  Ali Rivera had the riding call on the gray gelding out of Prairie War Princess by Dashin Is Easy.

Completing the field were Jess Star Struck, Wicked Bogie, Boss Hawk, with Dragones and Zooming Dynasty head-heating for last.
