Lethal Fast Cash (#2) wins a head-bob over Special Lil Cricket (#10) and Dispatch (#9) in the $35,400 Jones Bloodstock Starter Stakes at Retama Park on Friday.

SELMA, TX–JULY 26, 2024—Jockey Oscar Andrade, Jr. got his fourth stakes win of the night in the $35,400 Jones Bloodstock Starter Stakes aboard Lethal Fast Cash at Retama Park Friday.

Andrade guided Lethal Fast Cash to a head win while completing the 350 yards in 17.933 seconds, an 88-speed index into an 8 mph headwind.

Owner-trainer Carlos Cruz Lopez saddled the son of multiple stakes sire Lethal Corona to his third win in 19 career starts. The $21,240 payday brings Lethal Fast Cash's earnings total to $68,435.

Mickey Tiner bred the 5-year-old in Texas from the Ivory James mare Miss Fast Jeans.

Runner-up Special Lil Cricket earned $7,080 for finishing second. Martin Rodriguez trains the Special Royal Corona gelding for owner Alma Guerrero. Mary Denson bred the 5-year-old from the Royal Shake Em mare Shakem Up Cricket. Francisco Giles was riding.

Another head back in the blanket finish, Dispatch, a 3-year-old son of Bogart from the Four Six Jess mare Jess Four To Six, earned $3,894 for third, boosting his bankroll to $45,160. Daniel Luna trains the bay gelding for owner Melchor Mendez. F H & S Partnership is the breeder.

Imma Sweet Diva, Me Be Legend, Piloncillo Kas, Kuhl Muddy, Addy Girl, Misterz Cashmaster, and Heza Glimpse completed the field.
