$40,000 LQHBA Sale Graduate San Lorenzo Princess Wins $50,000 LQHBA Sale Debutante
Under jockey Martin Osuna San Lorenzo Princess cruises to victory in the $50,000 LQHBA Sale Debutante Stakes at Fair Grounds Race Course Saturday.

$40,000 LQHBA Sale Graduate San Lorenzo Princess Wins $50,000 LQHBA Sale Debutante

NEW ORLEANS, LA–SEPTEMBER 14, 2024–San Lorenzo Princess cruised to a 1-1/4 length win as the post-time favorite in the $50,000 LQHBA Sale Debutante Stakes at Fair Grounds Race Course on Saturday.

Jockey Martin Osuna rode the $40,000 LQHBA Yearling Sale graduate to her third win in five starts this season for owner Rogelio Marquez, Jr., and trainer Jeremy Derozin.  The daughter of champion sire Apollitical Blood clocked 350 yards in 17.559 seconds, equaling a 94-speed index with a six mph tailwind.

Bred by Darrell Williams from the Corona Cartel mare Princess Of Torts, San Lorenzo Princess was a second in the Lassie Futurity(RG2) at Delta in May.  The $30,000 Debutante winner's purse brings her earnings to $93,292.

Wish U Were Whiskey rallied under jockey Ubaldo Lunda to finish second and earn $10,000. Ray Mayo trains the Ajs Fast Dash filly for owner Amanda St Amant. Also, a Lassie Futurity(RG2) finalist, Wish U Were Whiskey, has earned $35,118.  Arnold J. Trahan bred the filly from the Game Patriot mare Wild On Da Whiskey.

Jess Pretty N Black finished half-a-length back to earn $5,500 for third. Trainer Guillermo Martinez named jockey Jasiel Aquino to ride the daughter of The Louisiana Cartel for owner Eleazar Martinez, Sr. Grant Farms bred the black filly from Jess Pretty In Black by Mr Jess Perry. A finalist in the Lee Berwick Futurity(RG1) and the Lassie Futurity(G1), Jess Pretty N Black has earned $34,072.

Eloquenz, Louisiana Blood, Rf Gold Heart Duck, Fancy Paints, Sylvi Can Too, and Jess A Dash O Dancer completed the field.
