Glittr Factory Breaks Maiden, Sets Top Mark In Rocky Mountain Quarter Horse Futurity Trials

AURORA, CO—SEPTEMBER 14, 2024—The lightly raced Glittr Factory broke her maiden today while posting the fastest time in the Rocky Mountain Quarter Horse Futurity trials at Arapahoe Park.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will return to the Denver area racetrack on Saturday, September 28, to vie for the winner's share of $83,500-est. purse to be run at a distance of 330 yards.

With a strong driving finish under jockey Martin Lazalde, Glittr Factory raced to a three-quarter-length win while covering 330 yards in 16.989 seconds, a 97-speed index into a 7 mph headwind. It was the Flare For Ivory filly's second start after she finished off-the-board in her troubled career debut, a trial for the Four Corners Futurity.

Trainer Jose Barron conditions the Colorado homebred for owner Barron Racing LLC. Sierra Hugo Barron bred the filly from the Tres Seis mare seis Star Glitter.

Jose Barron, Martin Lazalde, and Barron Racing also teamed up to qualify for the 5th-fastest Access Granted and 6th-fastest Lethal D.

Bally's Arapahoe Park in Aurora, Colorado, began its live race meet on Friday, September 6, and will continue through Sunday, November 10. The Colorado meet's race days are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with a 1:00 p.m. (MT) post time. The schedule is subject to change.
