PHOENIX, AZ–MARCH 22, 2025–In his first official start outside of California, You Can Run wins his debut start of the season on Saturday in the $40,000 Allred Brothers Stakes at Turf Paradise.

Ridden by Kevin Carbajal, You Can Run took the lead at first call and kept it to the wire for a half-length victory over Rockin Jo Kool.

Under pressure, the eight-year-old gelding maintained his speed, clocking a 99-speed index in 17.444 seconds. The 350-yard winning effort paid $6.60 to win on 2-1 odds.

Rockin Jo Kool, ridden by Luis Valenzuela, finished second in a close photo finish, with a nose advantage over post-time favorite Jess My Dynasty, who claimed third under jockey Oscar Andrade, Jr.

Thirty-three of You Can Run’s 34 starts have been contended at Los Alamitos. With an 11-8-4 race record, the son of Favorite Cartel has won four stakes races and placed or shown in six.
