OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MARCH 22, 2025—Let go at odds of 11-1, Storms Livewire warded off all challengers under jockey Javier Hernandez-Gallardo to win the $25,000 Paul Harber Memorial Stakes for 3-year-old and up Paints and Appaloosas at Remington Park Saturday night.

Trainer Michelle Hurdle saddled the multiple stakes-winning son of leading APHA sire CRM Livewire (PT) for owner Edith Gutierrez Velasco. Darlings Farms bred the four-time gelding in Oklahoma from the Seattle Fitz (TB) mare Storms Promise (TB).

The $14,775 Paul Harber winners' purse boosted Storms Livewire's career earnings to $74,,890.

Runner-up Chief Iron Eagle finished half-a-length back to earn $4,925 for second. Trainer Luis Villafranco tapped jockey Edwin Escobedo to ride the Appaloosa son of Gray Chief (Ap) for owner Judith Robles-Garcia. Jose Vicente Robles bred the gelding in Oklahoma from the Feature Mr Jess mare Feature Lauren. The multiple stakes placed 3-year-old has earned $82,910 in 10 starts

Multiple stakes-winning Appaloosa mare Queen For Cash finished a nose back to get third for owner-breeder Gary Vaughn. Jesus Ruben Ruiz tapped jockey David Alvarez, Jr. to ride the daughter of Quarter Horse stallion Hes Relentless from the Ivory James mare Ivory Queen (AP). The 16-time winner has earned $213,339.

Post-time favorite R Cowgirl was fourth, followed by Wl Karma, Ima Chili, Wire Tap, and Sullys Country Wagon. Drank Like Hank and Livewires Turnpike were scratched.
