Franny B Dove (#3) holds off Patty Wagon Train (#8) in the $35,000 Mother's Day Stakes at Delta Downs Saturday night.

VINTON, LA–MAY 10, 2025–Franny B Dove extended her win streak to three Saturday night when she won the $35,000 Mother's Day Stakes over a "wet fast" racing surface at Delta Downs.

Unbeaten this season, Franny B Dove bumped early, then prevailed under jockey Leonardo Rodriguez to hold off the fast-closing Patty Wagon Train by a head. Franny B Dove completed the 350 yards in 17.830, equaling an 89 speed index. 

After going winless in six starts at 2, the daughter of Stevie B First Cash won her Mardi Gras Derby trial and then returned to win the $100,000 Mardi Gras Derby in her last start on March 28.

Trainer Larry D. Keith conditions the chestnut filly for owner Randall Morein, who co-bred Franny B Dove with Phil Guilbeau from the Jazzing Hi mare Jazzing Micki. The Mother's Day Stakes winner's purse, valued at $21,000, boosted her bankroll to $93,200.

Stakes winner Patty Wagon Train surged late but just missed under jockey Ublado Luna to collect $7,000 for second. Orlando Orozco trains the Bp Wagon Train mare for owner John T. Sargent.

Steven P. Miller bred the 5-year-old from the Game Patriot mare Pattymegone.  Winner of the Billy Montgomery Stakes at Louisiana Downs in her last start, she has earned $193.310.

Another head back in the blanket finish, All About Rogue earned $3,850 for third. Trainer Eduardo Morales tapped jockey Yaidel Rodriguez to ride the Heza Fast Rogue filly for owner Leobersi Perez. Also, a stakes winner of $86,000, All About Rouge was bred by Brock Broussard from the Pyc Paint Your Wagon mare All About The Candy.

Sent to the post at odds of 2-1, Franny B Dove returned $6.60 to win, $3.20 to place and $2.10 to show. Patty Wagon Train was worth $3.60 to place and $2.20 to show. All About Rogue paid $2.20 to show.

Rogue Fast Dash, Rf Imperial Choice, Babymoone, Yoda, and Carters Showgirl completed the field. Apollitical Queen was scratched. 

Delta Downs will conduct live racing next week, Wednesday through Saturday. First post time each night is set for 6:15 pm (CDT).
