Bg Black Friday Wins Pocatello Downs Overnight Paint and Appaloosa Futurity

POCATELLO, ID–MAY 11, 2025–In her first career start, Bg Black Friday raced to a half-length win in the $3,250 Pocatello Downs Overnight Paint and Appaloosa Futurity (not black type) on Sunday afternoon at Pocatello Downs.

Bred, owned, and trained by Bryn Grant, Bg Black Friday earned $1,956 for her winning effort. She completed the 300 yards in 16.465 seconds on a "wet fast" racetrack with a 10 mph crosswind. The Appaloosa daughter of first-crop Quarter Horse sire Cyber Monday was bred in Idaho from the Geneo JJ mare CMB A Final Legacy.

Post-time favorite Jc has Dulce finished second under jockey Jesus Valenzuela to earn $812. Kylie Valenzuela conditions the APHA son of the leading first-crop Quarter Horse sire Dulce Sin Tacha for owner Francisco Molina. Jose Cervantes Jr. bred Jc Has Dulce from the County Quick Dash mare A Real Surprise in Oklahoma. This was also his career debut.

My Cajun Queen was a half-length back under jockey Never Marin to earn $488 for third. Don Atwood trains the Appaloosa homebred for owner-breeder Ralph Hartline. My Cajun Queen is by Ivory King (AP) and is out of Cajun Prize by The Louisiana Cartel.

Jockey Eric Ayala was aboard to steer the daughter of first-crop sire Cyber Monday to a 16.465 clocking over the 300 yards into a 10 mph crosswind.

Dutch Cartel and Jess Painted completed the field. 

The remainder of the Pocatello Downs Sunday card, Races 3 through 9, were canceled due to inclement weather conditions.
