MEXICO CITY, MEX–JUNE 22, 2025—Stablemates and the top two fastest qualifiers from the trials, Cc First Dance and Cc Regal Jack, ran one-two in the $90,000 Subasta Selecta Derby on Sunday at the Hipodromo de las Americas.

Piloted by Huberclein Gomez, Cc First Dance broke seventh but launched a rapid rally to seize the lead and never relinquished it, crossing the wire 1 1/2 lengths ahead of her stablemate.

The daughter of First Dinastia posted a 93 speed index with a final time of 19.59 seconds.

Cc First Dance has now won eight of her thirteen starts. The $38,190 winner’s share pushed her career bankroll to $89,320. After a fifth-place finish in the Mexico Derby and an eighth-place effort in the Garanones Derby, this marks her first—and well-earned—stakes victory of the season.

Racing along the inside, Cc Regal Jack made a steady drive under jockey Mario Alberto Lopez Marmolejo, but could not get by the winner.

The son of A Regal Choice entered the race with a fourth-place finish in the Mexico Derby and a fifth-place finish in the Garanones Derby. His record now stands at three wins, 2 seconds, and two thirds from 15 starts, with total earnings of $39,033.

Trainer Marlon Quezada saddled both runners for owner Rancho Las Gaviotas. Carlos Espinoza bred Cc First Dance and Cc Regal Jack in Mexico. Cc First Dance is out of the Corona Cartel mare Dance With Jessies, and Cc Regal Jack is out of Jumpn Jackie by Jumpn.

Gypsy Amadeus, with Francisco Manjarrez in the irons, tracked the top pair closely and finished a neck behind Cc Regal Jack in third. Trained by Jose Bastida, the bay filly has a 1-1-3 record from six starts with earnings of $19,404.

Gypsy Amadeus is a daughter of Tempting Splash Dash, owned by Cuadra Zamarrero. She is out of the Pyc Paint Your Wagon mare Paint Me Racy, and was bred in Mexico by Arturo Olvera.

Dk Fuego De Danny, As Easy Jet Princes, The Big Red, Fredas Wagon, Dk Torito Cartel, and Rg Beautiful Jewel completed the order of finish.
