Jockey Larren Delorme Leads Top Two Fastest Qualifiers Into The NDQHRA Northern Plains Futurity

FARGO, ND–JULY 12, 2025– Two trials were held Saturday at North Dakota Horse Park in Fargo, North Dakota, to determine the eight fastest qualifiers for the upcoming NDQHRA Northern Plains Futurity, a 350-yard event for 2-year-olds offering a $25,000-estimated purse. Larren Delorme was aboard the top two fastest qualifiers—Travelin Princess and Coronas Famous Chick—who each won their respective trial to lead the qualifiers into the July 25 finals.

In the second of two trials, Travelin Princess turned in the fastest qualifying time of :18.621 and her second career win. Breaking second from the gates, Travelin Princess took the lead at the final stretch to win the heat by a half-length over Love Eye See, collecting $2,500 for the effort.

Her career earnings now stand at $8,350 from five starts, including a previous win in the Rusty Wilson Memorial Futurity trials. She also qualified with the fastest time in that trial run and returned for second in the finals.

Travelin Princess was bred in North Dakota by Doug Demontigny out of Rare Hula by Rare News. The daughter of Travelin Miracle filly owned by her trainer Mark Allery in partnership with John Bercier.

In the first trial, Corona’s Famous Chick dug in late to win by a nose over Tokio Rose, stopping the timer in 18.661 to post the second-fastest qualifying time. Trained by Uriel Cervantes, the bay filly achieved her first career victory for owner Rodney J. Smith. Love Eye See, who finished second in the first trial, also secured a spot in the finals and is owned and trained by the same connections.

The daughter of Coronas Leaving You was purchased for $10,500 at the 2024 Heritage Place Fall Mixed Sale. Bred by Ron Sloan in Oklahoma, she is out of Sr One Famous Chick by One Famous Eagle.

The eight fastest qualifiers from today’s trials will return to North Dakota Horse Park on July 25 to vie for the estimated $25,000 purse in the NDQHRA Northern Plains Futurity final. CLICK HERE for a list of qualifiers with times, sires, dams, owners, breeders, trainers, and jockeys.

John Bubel bred and owns three of the eight qualifiers headed into the finals, including Noras Bodies Blow Out and Tarlas Hot Dasher. Terry Davis trains the first two, while Jamie Herman trains Tarlas Hot Dasher. Trainer Uriel Cervantes will enter the finals with three from his barn as well, including Coronas Famous Chicks, Love Eye See and Hiclass Famous One.
