FARGO, ND—JULY 18, 2025—Legacy Ranch’s homebred Prized Five Bar emerged as the fastest qualifier from two trials held Friday at North Dakota Horse Park for the upcoming $17,500-added NDQHRA Futurity final, set for Sunday, August 3.

The 2-year-old gelding covered 350 yards in 18.180 while overcoming a 10 headwind and defeating his rivals with a consistent and determined late surge. He recorded an 89 speed index in his first win in four starts this season.

Sired by champion and multiple stakes sire Five Bar Cartel and out of the Panther Mountain mare Panther Prize Me, Prized Five Bar posted the top time under jockey Dakota Wood.

Trained by Robert Don Johnson, the sorrel gelding overcame early traffic and rallied gamely to secure the win by half a length in the first of two trials. Foaled April 7, 2023, in North Dakota, he is a product of Legacy Ranch’s breeding program.

Second-fastest qualifier R Thirtyeightspecial, trained and owned by Chris Longie, earned his spot in the final with a solid effort in the same trial. The Roens Ramblin Fever gelding, out of Two Thirty Eight by Lead The Field, broke sharply but drifted out in the stretch. Despite the greenness, he crossed the wire in 18.290 under Ricardo Martinez.

He was bred in North Dakota by Gary and Stefanie Roen and has compiled a (4) 2-1-0 record and earned $6,100.

Owned by Dean Huschka and trained by Jeff Charbonneau, Flo Sixes Ridin overcame a rough beginning, breaking in before awakening in the final strides to get his first win while defeating heavy favorite Kool Dean. Connie McKenzie was in the irons for the victory. Flo Sixes Ridin was fifth in the Rusty Wilson Memorial Futurity three races back and has earned $4,450.
