Helladic won the $34,000 G.C.F.A. All Breeds 870 Stakes on Saturday's race card.

FREDERICKSBURG, TX—AUGUST 23, 2025—Helladic delivered a determined late run under jockey Victor Urieta, Jr. to capture the $34,000 G.C.F.A. All Breeds 870 Stakes at Gillespie County Fairground on Saturday afternoon.

Covering the 870-yard distance in 47.214 seconds on a fast track, the 5-year-old chestnut gelding earning the winner’s share of $20,400 for owner Robb Nixon.

Trained by Joaquin Garza and bred in Kentucky by Stonestreet Thoroughbred Holdings LLC, Helladic is by Kantharos (TB) and out of Gal About Town (TB), by City Zip (TB).

Helladic's mixed standings are five wins in 12 starts and earnings of $68,076.

Dazzlin Drama, a 5-year-old brown gelding by Big Drama (TB) out of Dazzlin Effort, by Jumpn, finished a neck back in second under jockey Eliazar Vera. Trained by Arnold Lewis for Diamond L Racing and bred in Oklahoma by Darling Farms, Dazzlin Drama earned $6,800 for his runner-up effort. He was a 2021 Heritage Place Mixed Sale RNA at $8,000.

Finishing third, another ½-length behind the runner-up, was Determined, a 4-year-old gray gelding by One Famous Diamond out of Special Kaydena, by Eyesa Special. Owned and bred in Texas by Kenneth A. Hammonds, Determined is trained by Juan Hernandez and was piloted by Luis Vivanco, collecting $3,400 for his effort.

Completing the order of finish were El Bee Dee (4th), Straight Luck (5th), Perrys Last Trick (6th), Moonin the Czech (7th), and Sonny Surfer (8th).

Pari-mutuel payouts included: Helladic returned $7.80 to win, $4.00 to place, and $2.80 to show. Dazzlin Drama paid $4.00 to place and $3.60 to show, while Determined returned $4.20 to show.
