VINTON, LA—AUGUST 30, 2025—Ttt La Kas surged to a hard-fought victory in the $56,000 Lakeview Dash Stakes on Saturday at Delta Downs, holding off a determined field to score by a head in a dramatic finish.
Covering the 250-yard distance over a wet-fast track, the 4-year-old bay filly stopped the timer in 13.039 seconds, earning a 94 speed index under jockey Randy Edison Jr.
Trained by Jose Carrizales for owner Jonathan Meraz, Ttt La Kas dueled every step to secure the $30,000 winner’s share and boost her bankroll to $125,280. Bred in Louisiana by Rickey Thompson, she is by Ivan James and out of the Kas I Said So mare Ttt Kas.
Venus Tlc, a 4-year-old brown filly by champion sire The Louisiana Cartel out of Pamplonna by First Moonflash, finished second by a head after a game effort. Owned by Jorge Haddad and Jorge Haddad Mestre, trained by Jose Espinosa, and ridden by Leonardo Rodriguez, Venus Tlc collected $10,000 for her runner-up finish. Bred in Louisiana by her owners, Venus Tlc was a $10,000 LQHBAY sale repurchase in 2022. She has earned $86,687

Multiple stakes-placed Coco Piloto, a 3-year-old sorrel filly by Mr Piloto out of Cocopata by Walk Thru Fire, finished third, beaten a head after breaking inward at the start. Ridden by Luis Maldonado for trainer Kenneth Weeks and owner Robert Boudreaux, the Grant Farms LLC-bred filly earned $5,500. A $32,000 LQHBA Yearling Sale purchase in 2023, Coco Piloto displayed grit in holding on for the show spot. She has earned $63,199.
Ttt La Kas returned $6.60 to win, $3.20 to place, and $3.80 to show. Venus Tlc paid $20.00 to place and $9.20 to show, while Coco Piloto returned $6.60 to show.
Tf Jess a Eagle finished fourth, followed by India de La Nieve in fifth, Blood Kiss sixth, Konnan Cartel seventh, and Fearless Eagle Z eighth.
