VINTON, LA—AUGUST 30, 2025—In a heart-stopping finish at Delta Downs on Saturday night, Rf Fast Dash N Blood held off a furious late charge from Luziana Man to win the $534,640 LQHBA Sale Futurity (RG1) by a head.
With Jorge Garcia aboard, the bay gelding covered the 350 yards over a wet-fast track in 17.388 seconds, earning a 102 speed index on a calm night with no wind.
Trained by Miguel Castillo and owned by Jaime Cardenas, Rf Fast Dash N Blood proved once again why he is one of Louisiana’s brightest 2-year-old prospects. The son of champion Apollitical Blood, out of the Heza Fast Dash mare Fast Dash N Deb, was bred by Rogers Farm/Tim and Jennie Rogers and purchased for $80,000 at the 2024 LQHBA Yearling Sale.
Saturday’s victory added $240,588 to his resume, boosting his career earnings to $722,989. Earlier this season, Rf Fast Dash N Blood captured the Lee Berwick Memorial Futurity (RG1) and the Louisiana Bred Lassie Futurity (RG2). His only loss in eight starts this season came in a fifth-place effort in the Mardi Gras Futurity (RG2) at Louisiana Downs.

Luziana Man, ridden by Noe Castaneda for trainer Jose Espinosa, launched a powerful rally late but came up just short, finishing second in a futurity to Rf Fast Dash N Blood for the third consecutive time. He earned $90,889 to boost his bankroll to $262,428.
The gelded son of multiple stakes sire Dominyun out of Jewels Fortune by First Down Jewel is owned by Rosalio Espinosa and Jerry Deville, Jr., bred in Louisiana by Jerry West, and was a $13,500 purchase from the 2024 LQHBA Yearling Sale. He has won four of seven starts with second-place efforts in the Lee Berwick Memorial Futurity(RG1) and the Laddie Futurity(RG2).

Finishing third, 1½ lengths behind the runner-up, was Ten Plus, a son of second-crop sire Gold Heart Eagle V out of Volcom Bay by Volcom. Ridden by Francisco Calderon and trained by Jose Espinosa, the bay gelding earned $53,464 for owners Jose R. Espinosa and Robert Witsiepe.
He was bred in Louisiana by Bennie and Terri Jeter and sold for $30,000 at the 2024 LQHBA Yearling Sale. A winner of two of six starts this season, Ten Plus has earned $68,664.
Sent to the post at odds of 1-5, Rf Fast Dash N Blood paid $3.40 to win, $2.20 to place and $4.20 to show. Luziana Man was worth $3.40 to place and $2.20 to show. Ten Plus returned $4.20 to show.
Completing the field were Everyday Deeds, Fantsy Man Train, Moneys Right, Jedi James, Mardi Gras Train, and Luci B.
