BLACKFOOT, ID—SEPTEMBER 1, 2025—Bw Just A Ruger broke sharply and never looked back, scoring a gate-to-wire victory in Monday’s $6,000 John and Elouise Hamilton Memorial Stakes (not black type) at the Blackfoot Fair.

Ridden by Jesus Flores and trained by Glen Jamison, the 4-year-old bay filly stopped the clock in 15.203 seconds for the 300-yard dash, earning a speed index of 111 on a fast track under clear skies and no wind.

The daughter of Justified, out of Bw Robins Lark by Ettaduino, was bred in Idaho by Thomas Boyd and Betty Weeks and races for owner Maria E. Baltodano.

The victory added $3,300 to her bankroll, which now stands at $39,260. Bw Just A Ruger returned $18.20 to win, $9.80 to place, and $4.80 to show.

Finishing second was Smokin Lil Wagon, a 5-year-old mare by Lil Kool Wagon out of Smokn Mirrors by Jumpn, who closed strongly under jockey Jesus Virgen but came up three-quarters of a length short at the wire.

Also trained by Glen Jamison for owners Glen T. and Jill G. Jamison, Smokin Lil Wagon earned $1,500 for her runner-up effort. She paid $4.20 to place and $8.60 to show.

Multiple stakes winner The Prize Ferarri, a 7-year-old gelding by The Louisiana Cartel out of Ferarri Fast Prize by Mr Jess Perry, took third for owners RTM Stables LLC and Bryon Goody.

Bred in Oklahoma by Weetona Stanley and trained by Mark Hanson, he finished a nose behind the runner-up under jockey Dakota Wood, earning $900. The Prize Ferarri was a 2024 Heritage Place Fall Mixed RNA at $30,000. He has earned over $202,000.

Rounding out the order of finish were Cd Draco in fourth, Rc Mayito Gotcorona in fifth, and Lc Iona Cartel in sixth.
