ELKO, NV—SEPTEMBER 1, 2025—Veteran speedster Pappajeto showed his class once again on Monday afternoon, breaking sharply and never looking back to capture the $7,000 Zoom Zoom Zoom Stakes (not black tyope) at the Elko County Fair.

Ridden by Oscar Cervantes, the 9-year-old bay gelding covered the 100-yard dash in a swift 6.442 seconds against a light 2-mph headwind on a fast track, earning a 98 speed index and the winner’s share of the purse, $4,020.

Bred in Utah by his owners, David K. and Linda Burt, Pappajeto is by Pappasito and out of Streaking Secrets, a daughter of A Streak of Cash. Trained by David Burt, the gelding left little doubt about his superiority, popping the gates smartly and drawing clear late to score by three-quarters of a length.

The victory adds another stakes triumph to Pappajeto’s already decorated résumé, improving his bankroll to $119,152.

Finishing second was Go My First Doll, a 3-year-old gray filly bred in Utah by Gloria F. Ortiz, who also owns her. By Bs Gimme Five and out of Eyem Country by Hes Relentless, the filly is trained by Cresencio Ortiz and was ridden by Oscar Villa. She broke alertly, ran gamely throughout, earning $1,340 for her strong runner-up performance.

Stingg Rey finished third, another promising 3-year-old who fought hard to hit the board. The palomino gelding, bred in Oklahoma by Cross D Quarter Horses, is by One Valiant Hero and out of Paint Road by Azoom. Racing for owners Samuel Leon and Dean Drew Wasko, he is trained by Alexis Leon and was ridden by Jayden Ironeyes. After a clean start, Stingg Rey drifted slightly in the lane but managed to hold third by a neck, earning $669 and an 84 speed index.

Rounding out the field, Vvr No Refunds finished fourth, followed by Lrh Mojo Kat in fifth, Freds Livin the Life in sixth, Look James in seventh, Special Candy in eighth, and Ps Rocky Mountain in ninth.

Pappajeto returned $3.00 to win, $2.80 to place, and $2.40 to show. Go My First Doll paid $8.40 to place and $3.20 to show, while Stingg Rey returned $3.20 to show.
