AJAX, ONT–OCTOBER 2, 2025–
The 2-year-old filly Chillin With Peeps made an exciting career debut in the first race at Ajax Downs on October 1, speeding to a one-length win as a 15 to 1 longshot.

Ridden by Cassandra Jeschke for owner, trainer, and breeder Chantelle Bourgeois of Enniskillen, Chillin With Peeps ran the 300 yards in 15.957 for a solid 79 speed index.

Chillin With Peeps paid  $33.40 for a $2 win bet and set off a superfecta payoff of over $502.00.

The October 22 Alex Picov Futurity, the richest race in Canada for Quarter Horses, is scheduled to be her next start.

Bourgeois raced Chillin With Peeps granddam, Shake Pretty Baby, who was a five-time winner of over $82,000. Bourgeois bred and raced Shake Pretty Baby's daughter Shake It Twice, a multiple stakes winner and the dam of Chillin With Peeps.

"I am just thrilled," said Bourgeois. "She is wearing her mother's bridle and blinkers. I almost cried."

Chillin With Peeps' sire is the Ontario stallion Rushago.

Also on the Oct. 1 card, jockey Max Badal won a pair of races as he continues to have a career year. Badal won on Paul Garrison's One Fabulous Wave in race 3 and Dan Stevenson's JJJohnnypopper in race 6.

Fort Erie racetrack-based BodhI, who works as an outriding pony for the Thoroughbreds at that track, made a trip to Ajax Downs on Wednesday and won for the 10th time in his career.

The 7-year-old, owned and trained by Nick Mileni, Jr. and ridden by Helen Vanek sizzled in his half-length win at 220-yards. He raced the distance in 12.030 for a 95 speed index.
