MEXICO CITY, MEX–NOVEMBER 23, 2025–Corona For Dr Jess won the $12,000 Alfonso Patino Martinez Aceves Classic by daylight on Sunday at Hipódromo de las Américas.

Ridden by Arturo Vega Moreno, Corona For Dr Jess broke well, taking command immediately, and was never headed. The lightly raced filly rolled to a 2 1/4-length, wire-to-wire victory over El Cuervo Favorito, the early 2-1 favorite.

Corona For Dr Jess is a three-year-old filly with six career starts. Sunday’s score was her second win and her first black-type triumph. She earned the $6,000 winner’s share, pushing her lifetime bankroll to $11,000. She has finished on the board in four of her six outings and was a finalist in last year’s Jesús Nuchi Jiménez Sánchez Classic.

Bred in Mexico by Armando León, Corona For Dr Jess is by Dr Jess Perry and out of Mi Reyna Corona. Trainer Octabio Iván Becerra Águila saddled the winner for Cuadra Valman Domain.

Runner-up El Cuervo Favorito cut back from his preferred 870-yard trip for this test, but still chased home gamely to secure second. Huberclein Gomez rode the seven-year-old gelding, who has hit the board in eight of 10 starts for 2025. His lifetime record now stands at 3-8-8 from 43 starts, with $26,000 earned.

The son of Favorite Cartel is out of Super Perla Negra, and was bred in California by Steve D. Burns, DVM. Racing for Cuadra JJ, El Cuervo Favorito is trained by Julián Gutiérrez.

Alejandro Gómez López guided Alchise home in third. The three-year-old colt is sired by Xplorador (by Tres Seis).

Everardo Muzquiz bred Alchise out of First Shiney Native. Still a maiden after 14 starts, he is trained by Ariel Ruiz Soto for Cuadra INGO.

Phenomal Fernandita, EG Phenomenal Gray, and Testarudo rounded out the order of finish.
