MEXICO CITY, MEXICO–DECEMBER 21, 2025–Talk Of The Bar scored a mild upset over leading juvenile Dark Water Bay on Sunday in the $40,000 Juvenile Championship at Hipódromo de las Américas, remaining undefeated in three career starts.
Fresh off his win in the Futurity Las Américas in November—also over Dark Water Bay—Talk Of The Bar doubled down with a second straight stakes score. Huberclein Gomez guided the son of This Is An Eagle to a half-length victory in the 400-yard dash, stopping the clock in 19.86 seconds. The effort returned $8.85 to win.
With the $18,800 winner’s share, Talk Of The Bar improved to 3-for-3 with two stakes wins, pushing his bankroll to $30,200 in earnings.

He is a Heritage Place Yearling Sale graduate who brought $9,000 last year. Bred by Mary Thompson in Kansas, he is out of Five Bar Toast, by Five Bar Cartel.
Runner-up Dark Water Bay was ridden by Heriberto Camacho. The Mr Jess Perry colt has hit the board in every start, owning a 3-4-1 record from eight outings with $74,000 in earnings. His résumé includes wins in the Alfredo Castro Rea Classic and Jody’s Glory Classic, along with runner-up finishes in both the John Deere Juvenile Challenge and the Prize Classic earlier this season.
Trainer Antonio Garcia saddled Dark Water Bay for Cuadra Alpuyeca. Bred by Mike Vaughan, the $77,000 at the Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale graduate is out of Aqua Girl, by Corona Cartel.
Ccb Rich Ranch Boy finished third under Miguel Angel Rodriguez. The Corona Cartel colt owns a 2-1-1 record from four starts with nearly $10,000 in earnings. He was a $30,000 purchase at last year’s Heritage Place Yearling Sale.
Bred by Double Bar S Ranch LLC, he is out of Budder Than Ever, by Strawflyin Bud. Trainer Jorge Alberto Ruiz conditions Ccb Rich Ranch Boy for Cuadra Cartas Blancas.
Rounding out the order of finish were Dulce Sensacion, Aunt She A Dan D, Paint Me Famous Hg, Blue On The Run, and Rr Gallant Lew.
