SUNLAND PARK, NEW MEXICO–JANUARY 17, 2026– JM Famous Wynn delivered a front-running performance Saturday afternoon at Sunland Park, leading throughout to score her first career stakes victory in the $80,000 Lou Wooten and Sydney Valentini Stakes (RG2) for New Mexico-bred fillies and mares.
Ridden by Luis Martinez, JM Famous Wynn broke sharply and quickly established command, holding clear through the 400 yards to win by a length. The sorrel filly stopped the clock in 19.381 seconds, earning a 92 speed index over a fast track. Racing conditions were clear with a 9 mph headwind.

Trained by Tony Sedillo for owner Carlos Soto Carrasco, JM Famous Wynn is by All American Juvenile winner JM Specialwynn and out of Famous Strawberry, a winning mare by One Famous Eagle. Bred in New Mexico by Ventura M Ranch LLC, the filly earned the $48,000 winner’s share, pushing her career earnings to $147,620 and improving her record to 11-4-2-0. She was previously a finalist in the 2024 New Mexico State Fair Futurity (G2).
After Merrmaid was disqualified from second and placed sixth following a stewards’ inquiry, Flashtoglory was elevated to second. Ridden by Christian Ramos, the black mare is sired by champion sire First Moonflash and out of the winning Feature Mr Jess mare JP Glory Be. A homebred owned and trained by David Meridyth, Flashtoglory now owns a career record of 27-8-8-5 with earnings of $569,862. She entered the race off back-to-back victories in the New Mexico Classic Distaff and the New Mexico Classic Filly and Mare Championship (G1). Ramos has been aboard for all of her stakes victories.
Big Daddy Farr finished third after closing steadily. The 5-year-old mare is by leading sire Big Daddy Cartel and out of the Mr Jess Perry mare Annis Farr. Trained by Michelle Salazar, Big Daddy Farr now holds a career record of 23-4-2-1 with earnings of $160,224. She remains in search of her first stakes win and was coming off back-to-back stakes appearances as a finalist in the New Mexico Classic Distaff and the New Mexico Classic Filly and Mare Championship (G1).
Sent off at odds of 8.70-1, JM Famous Wynn returned $19.40 to win, $7.00 to place, and $4.60 to show. Flashtoglory paid $2.40 and $2.20, while Big Daddy Farr returned $4.20 to show. The $1 exacta paid $28.80, the $1 trifecta returned $254.70, and the 10-cent superfecta paid $184.73.
Jess Paid, Good Things Come, Merrmaid, Milagro Lady, Macho Daddys Girl, First Flashin, and Chicka Boom Babe completed the field.
