LOS ALAMITOS, CA–MARCH 21, 2026–The first night of juvenile races at Los Alamitos this season produced four impressive winners on Saturday night.

The first race for 2-year-olds of the meet was a maiden test for fillies at 220 yards. Jaque, a KVN Corona filly out of Ivys Storm, took the top prize while racing from post position one. Jaque broke sharply and then flew the rest of the way to post a 1 1/4-length win in a time of :12.091.

Ridden by Irving Lara for trainer Jose Flores, Jaque is owned by Rojas Racing. The owners are best known for winning the LQHBA Louisiana Million Futurity with Blood Money, who won seven of eight starts while earning over $1.1 million.

Jaque’s dam is Ivys Storm, a multiple stakes-placed mare and $43,000 earner who hit the board in the Golden State Juvenile Stakes and Holiday Handicap in 2015. Jose Flores saddled the homebred filly.

Ed Allred’s Recuperate is a gelding by first-year sire Golden Boi, an AQHA champion and winner of the Grade 1 Ed Burke Million Futurity. With Oscar Peinado up, Recuperate won by 3/4 lengths while covering 220 yards in :12.335. James Glenn, Jr. saddled Recuperate from post number four. Recuperate is out of Getting Better, a half-sister to Los Alamitos Two Million winner Worth Doing.

Allred and Glenn, Jr. enjoyed a winning double for the night after teaming up with the Golden Boi gelding, College Boy, to win the other open maiden event. College Boy trailed early and was "pinballed" midway through the race, but fought through to win by a ½ length in a time of :12.50. The homebred was ridden by Cesar Ortega.

College Boy is out of the stakes-placed, $36,000 earner La Sierran. Back on March 11, College Boy worked from the inside post while going evenly with Allred’s other juvenile winner, Recuperate. He showed a strong late burst in that gate work, mirroring his gritty finish in tonight's race.

Miguel Osorio’s Call Me Soft won the final event for 2-year-old fillies. After overcoming a slow start, she pulled through to win by a nose in a 220-yard time of :12.235. The Call Me Cole filly is out of Speak Softly, a daughter of Grade 1 Golden State Million winner Little Talks. Call Me Soft was ridden by Ricardo Ramirez for trainer Jose Flores. Just like Jaque and Recuperate, Call Me Soft was bred by her owner.
