BOSSIER, LA–MARCH 27, 2026– Mamma Im Leaving You, the fastest qualifier, delivered a strong performance to win the $100,000 Mardi Gras Oaks on March 27 at Louisiana Downs, covering 400 yards in :19.616 seconds.
Ridden by Noe Castaneda, the filly broke sharply and took control early, holding firm to win by 1 1/4 lengths over Marcy Train B, while Smokeshow V finished third. The winner posted a 106 speed index over a fast track.
Mamma Im Leaving You now holds a race record of 8-3-3-1 with earnings of $183,414 after adding the $45,000 winner's share of the purse was added to her bankroll. This marks her first stakes victory. She ran second in the Louisiana Bred Lassie Futurity (G2) and was a finalist in the Louisiana Champions Day Juvenile (G2).
A $33,000 LQHBA Yearling Sale graduate, Mamma Im Leaving You was bred by Wiggins Acres LLC, owned by Jeantille Deville, and trained by Jose Lopez. She is sired by champion sire Coronas Leaving You and is out of Mamma Jamma Jamma, a mare from a strong female family that includes stakes winner Jess Proved Youwrong ($155,888) and the dam of champion Apollitical Gold ($1,014,601). Additional black type in the family includes Oh Cooper Go ($107,296), Sweettemption ($46,589), Game Show Special ($383,323), Eye Am The Best ($104,259), Logical Favorite ($20,899), and Way To Hussle ($14,422).

The filly is owned by Jaime Cardenas, trained by Josue Ponce, and was ridden by Jorge Garcia.
Bred by Grant Farms LLC, she is a $19,000 LQHBA Yearling Sale graduate. Marcy Train B is sired by World Champion Freighttrain B, whose progeny have earned more than $28.8 million, and is out of a mare that is a full sister to stakes winner and track record setter Big Dashing Perry ($350,022). Her second dam is a half-sister to champion First To Flash ($494,835).
Third-place finisher Smokeshow V, racing for Blackmon Quarter Horses LLC, completed the course in :19.849 seconds. The filly is a $58,000 LQHBA Yearling Sale graduate, bred by Bayou Stirling Equine LLC, trained by Luis Daniel Garcia, and ridden by Juan Garcia Jr.
She is sired by leading first-crop sire Gold Heart Eagle V and is out of the Heza Fast Dash mare MCM On Thin Ice ($54,475), a stakes placed runner. Smokeshow V is a half-sister to stakes winner Cool Ya Jets ($280,438), from a female family that includes stakes-winning Thoroughbreds Icy Lane ($119,670) and Icy Morn ($380,668).
Usxpress, the second-fastest qualifier, finished fourth and was followed by Brown Eyez Baby, Luci B, All Politics Astride, Corona B One, San Lorenzo Cocoy, and Six Streakin Blood.
