Blood Money Prize Tops Delta Downs Schooling Races April 10

VINTON, LA–APRIL 10, 2026–Delta Downs hosted its second night of schooling races Friday, April 10, setting the stage for the upcoming Old South Futurity and Laddie Futurity. Juvenile colts and geldings were entered across 11 races, with the first race going off at 7:30 p.m.

The fastest performance of the night came from race #7, where Blood Money Prize clocked the top time. The second-fastest effort came from the opening race, turned in by Da Big Red, while the third-fastest time was recorded in race #2 by Jess A Native Rogue.

Blood Money Prize, one of three winners ridden by Pedro Espinosa, stopped the clock in 12.195 seconds, winning by three-quarters of a length from the 7-post.

Owned by Ebelyn Rojas and trained by Alex Clark, the colt was bred by Rojas Racing Stables LLC. He is sired by graded stakes winner Blood Money and is out of the Fast Prize Corona mare Paparazzi Prize.

The second-fastest time came in the first race, where Da Big Red covered the distance in :12.276 seconds. He was the first of three juvenile winners ridden by Ubald Luna, crossing the wire one-half length ahead of the field from the 6-post.

Trainer Carlos Fierro saddled Da Bid Red for owner Ruban Maldonado. Bred by Frank L. Harrison, the son of graded stakes sire RC Me Leaving You, is out of the Heza Fast Dash mare Rbd Fastestdashndeb, a winning mare who was a finalist in multiple stakes races, including the LQHBA Sale Futurity (G1).

The third-fastest time of the night came in the following race (#2), where Jess A Native Rogue stopped the clock in :12.277 seconds, winning by three-quarters of a length from the 2-post under Randy Edison Jr.

Owned by Two Red Rock Farm LLC, trained by David Bustamante, and bred by Toni Express LLC, the colt is sired by Heza Fast Rogue and is out of the Fly Jess Fly mare SV Oh Jessie Fly, a winning mare.

Ivory James and RC Me Leaving Youu were the only two sires of the night to have multiple horses head to the winners' circle. Trainer Kenny Roberts Sr. stood out among the conditioners with three winners, while both Larry Keith and Preston Jourdan each trained two winners.

Ubaldo Luna and Pedro Espinosa topped the jockey standings with three wins apiece, while Leonardo Rodriguez followed with a pair of winners.
