MEXICO CITY, MEX–APRIL 26, 2026– CCB Quorum surged to victory in the 26th running of the $32,700 The Prize Classic on Sunday night at Hipódromo de las Américas, stopping the clock in :15.53 for 300 yards under jockey Huberclein Gómez.
Breaking from post six, the gray colt was fourth early before finishing strongly to earn the victory by a neck.
CCB Quorum is a U.S.-bred son of AJS Tres Of Paint, a graded stakes-placed runner by Apollitical Jess, and out of the winning Sir Runaway Dash mare Run Away Cache. Bred by Krazy B Racing LLC, he hails from a strong female family that includes stakes winner Chicks With Corona and champion Open Me A Corona. He was an $18,000 purchase at the LQHBA Yearling Sale.

Owned by Cuadra Cartas Blancas, the colt is trained by Jorge Alberto Ruiz Periban.
Fastest qualifier Already Favorite finished second for Cuadra Los Chivos after pressing the pace and holding his position late. The dark bay colt broke sharply and led early before settling for second under Miguel Angel Rodriguez.
Bred by Grant Farms, the $30,000 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale graduate is a son of Favorite Cartel out of the stakes-placed Mr Jess Perry mare Shes Already Famous, a full sister to stakes winner Jest Famous and from the immediate family of champion One Famous Eagle.
Trained by Luis Eustasio Nieto Muñoz, he now owns a 2-1-1-0 record with earnings of $10,834.
Second fastest qualifier QS Smooth As Silk finished third for Cuadra Alpuyeca after racing mid-pack throughout under J. E. Pineda.
A $70,000 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale graduate, QS Smooth As Silk is by Apollitical Jess out of stakes winner Silk And Stilettos, a daughter of Favorite Cartel.
Bred by Fulton Quien Sabe Ranches LP, the colt traces back to a deep female line that includes stakes winner Tallulah Moon and world champion Special Leader. Trained by Antonio Garcia Carranza, he now carries a 2-1-0-1 record with earnings of $7,565.
The Prize Classic final was contested at 300 yards for two-year-olds, with the field comprised of the 10 fastest qualifiers from trials held April 5. The total handle for the race card was reported at $149,941.
RG A Candy Girl, RG Queen Of Hearts, CV Star Spirit, Flying Rose, Kiss Of Angels, and Miss Lethal Valor completed the order of finish.
