Cyber Buzz Stays Perfect in Desert Classic Futurity at Turf Paradise

PHOENIZ, AZ–APRIL 27, 2026–Cyber Buzz remained unbeaten with a sharp victory in the $80,920 Desert Classic Futurity at Turf Paradise, covering 300 yards in :15.513 over a fast track. Sent off as the heavy favorite, the filly broke alertly, took command early, and held safely to the wire under jockey Francisco Zamora.

Owned and trained by Alex Torres-Casas, Cyber Buzz entered the final off the fastest qualifying time of :15.356 on April 6, where she dominated her trial by 2 1/2 lengths with a 104 speed index.

Bred by Thomas Scheckel, the $8,000 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale graduate is by leading sire Cyber Monday, whose limited crops have already produced more than $1.3 million in earnings. She is out of the Apollitical Jess mare Hunny Bee, a full sister to Champion of Champions (G1) winner Apollitical Pence ($1,867,319). The female family also includes champions Jess Good Candy ($2,014,703) and Chasing AJ ($907,069), along with AQHA Dam of Distinction Rock Candy SA.

With the win, Cyber Buzz improved to a perfect 3-for-3 record. The $40,460 winner’s share pushed her earnings to $54,177.

RC Said Cap Em finished second under Luis Martinez for owner J Lazy Six Racing and trainer Daniel Ruiz Amaya.

The Capo De Capi gelding, bred by April Leann Galindo, is out of the unraced The Louisiana Cartel mare RC Smokin Hot, a half-sister to stakes winners I Am That Hero ($225,168) and Shake Em Streakin ($183,501). He now holds a record of 2-0-2-0 with earnings of $18,211.

Second-fastest qualifier Raising Tell checked in third with Blake Nunnally aboard for Wells Racing LLC and trainer Matt Fales.

The homebred gelding is by champion Tell Cartel and out of the Corona Cartel mare Crazin, a winner and stakes finalist. The effort marked his first career win from two starts, boosting his earnings to $14,087.

Completing the field were Lightning Capo, Cyberscurve, Im Jess That Guy, Gilligan, Kevins Dime Piece, and Bogarts Favorite.

The Desert Classic Futurity was the second race on the card, following the $17,800 consolation for juveniles who failed to qualify for the final.

In the consolation, Mi Fayvorita scored a determined victory under Gabriel Medrano for owner and trainer Matt Fales, stopping the clock in :15.880. The Arizona-bred filly, also bred by Fales, is by Big Daddy Cartel out of the Favorite Cartel mare Fayvorita, a stakes finalist. Making just her second career start, Mi Fayvorita held off Moonlighting Monday by a neck, with Swiftie Sass finishing third.
