OKLAHOMA CITY, OK–MAY 3, 2026–She the CEO cruised to her second win in a row at Remington Park, taking the featured allowance Sunday night over Candy Flood, a finalist to two major races in the past couple of years.
Candy Flood (9-2 odds), who qualified for the finals of both the $536,000 Black Gold Futurity at Will Rogers Downs in Claremore, Okla., in 2024, and the Grade 2, $301,000 Heritage Place Oaks at Remington Park last year, jumped out of the gate Sunday on equal terms with She the CEO. Halfway down the track in this 330-yard race, She the CEO took over and flew to the wire 1-1/4 lengths in front of her rival. Candy Flood was another neck ahead of third-place finisher MH Aj Laico Bird (9-1).
She the CEO qualified for two futurity finals last year as a 2-year-old, in Texas and Louisiana. Neither she nor Candy Flood could muster a strong showing in any of their past stakes finals, but they went at each other in Sunday’s race like stakes horses. She the CEO won an allowance feature here on April 16 that was for fillies that had not won two races lifetime. Sunday’s win came in an allowance non-winners of three lifetime races. Jockey Roman Cruz got his second trip to the winner’s circle on this night with She the CEO giving him a double and he moved a little closer to leading rider Juan Pulido. After Sunday, Pulido’s lead had shrunk to a margin of 16, 49 wins to 33, over Cruz. Pulido was shut out Sunday.
Trainer Julio Rascon-Almanza has had She the CEO revved up and ready to fire in her three races this meet. The 3-year-old Texas-bred daughter of Hawkeye, out of the Favorite Cartel mare NSM Favorite Zoomer, ran third in her first start off an August 2025 to March 2026 layoff. That was her first try against allowance non-winners of two on March 13. That’s all the filly needed to fire big the next time out. Now she has two wins in a row as she stepped up the conditioned allowance ladder easily.
She the CEO earned $15,375 for owner RJ Racing of Dimmitt, Texas and improved her lifetime record to seven starts, three wins, and one second for a bankroll of $63,782. She was bred by Jose R. Espinosa and was purchased at the Heritage Place Winter Mixed Sale in Oklahoma City this year for $15,000.
She the CEO had a running time Sunday of :16.790 on the fast track, good for a speed index of 88. She the CEO paid $3.80 to win as the 4-5 heavy favorite, $2.60 to place and $2.60 to show.
Remington Park racing continues next week with the trials for the Grade 1, $1 million-plus Heritage Place Futurity on Thursday and Friday, May 7 & 8. There will be 13 trials each night with the five fastest horses on those nights qualifying for the finals on the Champions Night season-ender on May 30. Racing begins nightly at 6pm with Sunday action underway at 4pm. All times are Central.
