Juveniles from across the region competed over the fast Ogden oval with the ten fastest qualifiers earning a return trip to the futurity final.
Leading the way was Mysterious Hero, who posted the fastest qualifying time of :15.589 while winning the third trial with a 95 speed index.

The gelding is out of the Valiant Hero mare Mysterious Night and is a half-brother to stakes winner Mysterious Cartel ($196,911). His female family traces back to World Champion Special Leader ($292,605). Friday’s effort marked the gelding’s career debut.
Second fastest qualifier Sues Dynasty captured the second trial in :15.723 with a strong late rally to earn a 90 speed index. Ridden by Jose Juan Olivo for trainer Kylie Valenzuela, the filly surged late to defeat Silvers Creek in a tightly contested finish.
Bred by Scott Peterson and owned by Paul Peterson, Sues Dynasty was making her first lifetime start. The Utah-bred filly is sired by Jr Dynasty Mountain and is out of the winning Dash Ta Fame mare Dash Away Sue.
Third fastest qualifier Miss Corona Menace won the opening trial in :15.735 while making the second start of her career. The filly “broke alertly” under Cordarelton Benn and maintained her advantage throughout for trainer Joe M. Davis.
Bred by Scarlett Hill Farm Inc. and owned by Heavy Hitters Racing Stables, Miss Corona Menace is a $17,000 TQHA Yearling Sale graduate by champion KVN Corona.
She is out of the stakes-winning Specially Alluring mare Miss Alluring Menace ($206,373), a full sister to stakes winner Alluring Lil Menace ($28,315).
