OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MAY 30, 2026—B AJ surged to a convincing victory in Saturday night's Grade 3, $50,000 Jack Brooks Stakes-RG3 for accredited Oklahoma-bred 3-year-old Quarter Horses at Remington Park, covering 350 yards in 17.511 seconds over a fast track while earning a 92 speed index. The race was contested under clear skies with an 86-degree temperature and a 15 mph headwind.
Owned by Aurelio Juarez, trained by James Gonzales III, and ridden by Jesus Olivas, B AJ broke sharply and quickly established command before drawing away to win by three-quarters of a length. The sorrel gelding is by leading sire Apollitical Jess out of Glory Rider, by Valiant Hero, and was bred in Oklahoma by Homer A. Hill Estate. The victory was worth $28,500 from the $50,000 purse.
B Aj was a $255,000 Heritage Place 2024 Yearling Sale graduate. This was the first stakes victory for the gelding, who finished fourth in the Grade 1 Dee Raper Sooner State Stakes in his last start on April 18.
Uncle Redheads finished second and earned $9,500. The gelding is owned by Cavenaugh Quarter Horses LLC, trained by Jason Olmstead, and was ridden by Armando Alvidrez. Bred by Charles and Elizabeth Horton, Uncle Redheads is by leading third-crop sire Uncle D out of Redheads Run Hotter, by One Sweet Jess. A multiple graded stakes winner, Uncle Redheads has earned $245,847 off six wins in 13 starts.
Coronados 123 rallied to secure third place and collected $5,225. Owned and bred by Angelica Gil, trained by Hernesto Ramirez, and ridden by Mario Delgado, the gelding is by leading sire Flying Cowboy 123 out of Coronados Lady, by Coronado Cartel.
Illegal Cowgirl 123 finished fourth, followed by Kvn Design in fifth, Jamies Sin Tacha in sixth, Ima Bigg Flash in seventh, Southern Furrtreeous in eighth, Sheza Goldigger in ninth, and Bp Hail Mary in tenth.
B AJ returned $5.40 to win as the wagering favorite.
