GRANTS PASS, OR–JUNE 21, 2026–B My Lucky Lady made a winning first impression Sunday, posting the fastest qualifying time from six trial heats for the July 4 Grants Pass Firecracker Futurity at Grants Pass Downs.
The top five qualifying times were all recorded by fillies as 2-year-olds competed for spots in the $30,000-added futurity final at 300 yards.
Making her career debut, B My Lucky Lady SI 95 outran All Gussyed Up by a half-length in the fifth trial to secure the fastest qualifying mark of :15.467 for 300 yards. The daughter of Soy Especial stopped the clock at 15.4627 seconds, earning a 95 speed index.
Out of Lsg Deal Me a Lady, by Deal Me In Now, B My Lucky Lady was bred in Oregon by Juan Rodriguez. She races for owner Alexis Baca and is trained by Jose Juan Baca. Ramiro Jurado Jimenez was aboard for the victory.
Miss Royal Hawk SI 93 secured the second-fastest qualifying time of :15.523 while earning a 93 speed index after winning the fourth trial by three-quarters of a length over Moon Light Cre. Piloted by Julian Zavala, the daughter of The Cartel Hawk remains undefeated from three starts with $20,794 in the bank.
Out of Miss Royal Rumble, by Royal Shake Em, Miss Royal Hawk was bred in Oregon by Ismael Villarreal. She races for owner Ismael Villarreal and is trained by Jose A. Rosales Gomez. Earlier this season, she captured the Pocatello Downs Spring Futurity.
Third-fastest qualifier All Gussyed Up stopped the clock in :15.526 after finishing second to B My Lucky Lady in the fifth trial. The daughter of Glock has yet to break her maiden but has now finished in the money twice from three starts. She also finished fourth in the Pocatello Downs Spring Futurity earlier this year.
Out of Tickle Ur Fancy, by Dominyun, All Gussyed Up was bred in Oregon by Hayden Brothers Ranch, who also owns her in partnership with trainer Freddy Ibarra. She was ridden by Alberto Zepeda.
The remaining qualifiers will join the top three fillies in the July 4 final of the Grants Pass Firecracker Futurity. CLICK HERE for a complete list of qualifiers.
The second 10 fastest qualifiers from the Grants Pass Firecracker Futurity trials are preferred invites for the $10,000 added Grants Pass Firecracker Futurity Consolation, also on July 4th. Valiant Lil Bit, owned by Donald Conway, earned the top time going into the finals.
