Bossy Cartel Scores Sale Stakes Futurity Victory at Century Mile

EDMONTON, CAN–JULY 18, 2026–Bossy Cartel closed strongly to capture the US$29,107 Sale Stakes Futurity on July 18 at Century Mile.

Ridden by Alexander Marti, the brown gelding races for owner-breeder Jerry Stojan and is trained by William Leech. The son of JD Wagon Boss out of the Favorite Cartel mare Moonly Miss covered the 300 yards in :15.627, earning a 96 speed index.

Making just his second career start, Bossy Cartel boosted his earnings to $17,668 after collecting the $13,183 winner's share of the purse.

Rooters Wagon finished second under O. Hernandez for owner-breeder Glenn Wills and trainer Buckey Stockwell. The gelding completed the 300 yards in :15.776 for a 91 speed index.

 Making only his second career start, he improved his earnings to $13,905 after following up a runner-up effort in the Century Mile Juvenile Challenge Stakes in June.

First Flash The Moon and jockey Miguel Lopez completed the trifecta for owner-breeder Ralph Danard and trainer Craig Smith.

The filly is by Obsessed With Corona and out of the First Moonflash mare Yes Im First. She stopped the clock in :15.820, earning a 90 speed index.

Third in both of her career starts, First Flash The Moon has now banked $4,591.

Secret Wagon finished fourth and was followed by Shiny First Down, Babes Wagon, and A Dashing Wagon.
