SELMA, TX–AUGUST 6, 2026–Miss Chilitos led the qualifiers Thursday night from two trials for the $61,972 Colors of the Alamo Paint & Appaloosa Futurity at Retama Park, where sire Chilitos dominated the qualifying list.

Chilitos sired the three fastest qualifiers and five finalists overall from the 350-yard trials for 2-year-olds.

Miss Chilitos and jockey Oliver Martinez captured the second trial by 3 1/4 lengths to post the fastest qualifying time of :17.845, earning a 96 speed index. Breaking sharply from the outside, the filly quickly took command and drew away as much the best over a fast track.

Trained by Jose Martinez for owner Edgar Rivera Hernandez, Miss Chilitos was bred by Connie Nobles and is a $13,500 TQHA Yearling Sale graduate. She is sired by Chilitos and out of the Stoli mare Tahiti Evening, a full sister to Grade 1 All American Derby winner Dont Let Down ($697,769).

Miss Chilitos now has a record of 7-3-0-2 with earnings of $70,924. She finished third in the Grade 2 Colors of Houston Futurity earlier this season and was also a finalist in the Grade 1 TQHA Sale Futurity.

JVM Hot Victoria won the opening trial under Rosendo Pina Garcia to record the second-fastest qualifying time. Trained by Wendy Alejandra Garcia, the homebred races for Juan Leon. She was also a $7,500 repurchase at the TQHA Yearling Sale.

Trained by Wendy Garcia, JVM Hot Victoria is a homebred for Juan Leon and was a $7,500 repurchase at the TQHA Yearling Sale. The filly is sired by Chilitos and out of the winning Gol To Go mare Victoria Camila.

JVM Hot Victoria has compiled a record of 6-4-1-0 with earnings of $33,646. Already a multiple stakes winner, she captured the Grade 2 Colors of Houston Futurity as well as the TBHBA Paint Horse Juvenile.

Muy Piscosita EG finished second behind JVM Hot Victoria to post the third-fastest qualifying time. Ridden by Ali Rivera, the filly dueled throughout and finished a game second, completing the 350 yards in :18.199 for an 86 speed index.

Owned by Jesus Vasquez Luna and trained by Jose Martinez, Muy Piscosita EG was bred by Eduardo Galindo. She is sired by Chilitos and out of the Dominyun mare Katnis. She now has a record of 6-1-1-1 with earnings of $13,715.

The $61,972 Colors of the Alamo Paint & Appaloosa Futurity final is scheduled for August 22 at Retama Park.
