MALAD, ID—AUGUST 8, 2026—Paint The City held off favored Sheknowsshesmokn by three-quarters of a length Saturday to capture the $5,400 Oneida County Maturity (not black type) at the Oneida County Fair.

Contested at 300 yards for 3-year-olds and older, the non-black-type maturity was run on a fast track. Paint The City completed the distance in 15.162, earning a 107 speed index and the $3,240 winner's share of the purse.

Drifting out late, Luis Collazo rode Paint The City for owner-trainer Cesar Luna. Spencer Peterson bred the 4-year-old Jess Paint Me gelding in Utah from the Five Bar Cartel mare High Five City. Stakes-place, he has won six of 16 career starts and earned $23,875.

Sheknowsshesmokn, the 1-2 favorite, broke alertly and finished three-quarters of a length behind the winner to earn $1,350 for owner-breeder Edward Jamison. Jesus Flores rode the 4-year-old sorrel filly for trainer Glen Jamison. Bred in Idaho by Jamison, Sheknowsshesmokn is by Daguerre from the Jumpn mare Smokn Mirrors.

Ccbrookslittleboy finished a neck behind Sheknowsshesmokn in third and earned $810 for owner Juan Carlos Sanchez. Carlos Castruita was aboard for trainer Andee Cornia. Misael Lopez-Trujillo bred the 4-year-old black gelding in Utah. Ccbrookslittleboy is by Cc Brooks Big Boy from Little Bit Caliente, by Mark My Dial.

Bw Just a Ruger finished fourth, 2 3/4 lengths behind Ccbrookslittleboy. Ridden by Brayan Juarez for trainer Glen Jamison and owner Maria E. Baltodano.
