AJAX, ON–AUGUST 12, 2026–Champion Had To Be Fabulous added another stakes victory to her résumé Wednesday evening with a commanding win in the $21,134 (US) Princess Maturity at Ajax Downs.

With Ismael Mosqueira aboard, Had To Be Fabulous broke on top and never relinquished the lead in the 400-yard event. The heavy favorite crossed the wire 1 1/2 lengths in front in :20.105, earning a 95 speed index over a fast track.

Had To Be Fabulous is a homebred for Carol and Jaime Robertson and is trained by Bryn Robertson. The Ontario-bred filly is sired by One Fabulous Eagle and out of the dam of distinction Had To Be Fandango, by Hadtobenuts.

She is a half sister to champion Had To Be Ivory ($415,771), who holds the Ajax Downs 400-yard track record of :19.443.


The experienced stakes runner entered Wednesday's race off a third-place finish in the Ontario Bred Maturity after winning the Norman Picov Maturity in her previous start. Had To Be Fabulous now owns an impressive record of 18-15-0-1 with earnings of $147,461.

Relentless Betty crossed the wire second under Tony Phillips, finishing the 400 yards in :20.181 for a 93 speed index. The mare is owned, trained and bred by James Bogar.

Sired by Hes Relentless and out of the Tres Seis mare Leanintoit, she now has a record of 20-8-6-5 with $67,013 in earnings. Still in search of her first stakes victory, Relentless Betty was previously a finalist in the Alex Picov Memorial Championship.

Queen Charlotte finished third under Cassandra Jeschke after closing from seventh at the start. She stopped the clock in :20.187, also earning a 93 speed index.

Also owned, trained and bred by Bogar, the six-year-old mare has compiled a record of 29-9-5-1 with earnings of $96,822. Queen Charlotte won the Princess Maturity in both 2024 and 2025 and has also captured the Alex Picov Memorial Championship.

Ivy League Sugarbaby, Sweet Kara, Magic In Wonderland, Fiesty Feebee and Jess A Deal completed the order of finish.
