Mc Una Aguila Sets Top Mark In Grants Pass' Autumn Derby Trials

GRANTS PASS, OR—SEPTEMBER 21, 2020—Mc Una Aguila, a daughter of world champion One Dashing Eagle, posted the fastest qualifying time from two trials contested today at Grants Pass Downs for the Autumn Derby.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will return to Pacific Northwest racetrack on Sunday, October 12th to vie for the winner's share of the $12,500-added 400 yard final.

Under jockey Alberto Zepeda, Mc Una Aguila raced to a three-quarter length win in :20,132 seconds, a 95 speed index, to set the top qualifying time. Trainer Danny Motes saddled the black filly to her third win in 12 starts for owner Jorge Carmona.

Jose and Gustavo De La Torre bred Mc Una Aguila in California from the Spanish Boot mare Dlt Runaway. A finalist in the Adeuqan Grants Pass Derby Challenge in July, she has compiled a (12) 3-1-2 and earned $14,519.

Df Storm Tales, a son of second-crop sire Wagon Tales, clocked a three-quarter length winner in the second trial to post the third-fastest time of :20.372 seconds, a. 92 speed index.

Kyndra McKinney saddled the bay gelding to his third career win for owner Mertello Baird. Nakia Ramirez rode Oklahoma-bred out of Strom's Promise (TB) by Seattle Fitz (ARG). Darling Farms bred the $17,667 earner.
